Frank Lloyd Wright is considered by some the greatest American architect. This Elderhostel explores the many facets of Frank Lloyd Wright's revolutionary contributions to modern architecture, with particular emphasis on two houses. Visit Fallingwater, Wright's best essay on the harmony between architecture and nature, and Kentuck Knob, a private residence only recently opened to the public. Beginning with his unique American style of architecture in the 1890s, Wright accepted his commission to build Fallingwater when he was 67and Kentuck Knob in his late 80s. Compare and contrast for yourself these two exquisite houses built by the man whose 75-year career spanned two world wars.
