75th Anniversary Capital Project
Request for Proposal- Architect to engage in Pool and Lodge Capital Projects
Background- Laurelville Mennonite Church Center, founded in 1943, has grown from a seasonal camp serving Mennonite Association Members and Churches, to a robust retreat center catering to thousands of guests from a wide diversity of groups each year.
Why? Based on prior strategic planning conducted by Laurelville’s Board of Directors, Laurelville is looking to undertake a major capital project in honor of Laurelville’s 75th Birthday.
What? The board is currently torn between the following two capital projects, and has instructed the capital project committee to engage in discussions with interested architects. Said committee will work with architect to determine project details, costs, and feasibility of the following projects in order to make a final 75th Anniversary capital project selection.
- A face-lifted pool and surrounding area with fun new features, and increased functionality; including bathhouse and possibility of welcome center
- A new lodge facility with possibility of welcome center
How/When? Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest, and qualifications to Jeanette Lahm, Executive Director, at: email@example.com by Monday, December 19, 2016. Committee will review submissions and present final selections to board for discussion in January 2017.
The Ideal candidate will bring experience in recreational/aquatic facility development and be willing to consult with the capital campaign committee to understand needs, dream, and create conceptual designs in order to enable the board of directors make a final 75th Anniversary project selection.
