Our Commitment
to Sustainability
Laurelville is committed to providing guests
with comfort and hospitality, while trying to ensure that we
don’t deplete natural resources for future generations. In an
effort to be more sustainable, we purchase fresh local food during
the growing season, use geothermal heating and cooling in our
dining hall, limit the amount of disposables used on campus,
use compact fluorescent lighting in most of our buildings, refrain
from laundering room linens daily, and work to educate our guests
on the importance of these actions.
In coming years, you will see increased efforts
at Laurelville to reduce our energy consumption. We will retrofit
all of our buildings to be more energy efficient and work to generate
renewable energy on campus, including solar, wind and hydro energy. |
