True joy, satisfaction in life. That’s what most of us are looking for isn’t it? Where can it be found? One thing for sure, we won’t find it by looking for things of this world. That is a spiritual impossibility. As the new year gets underway, it’s a time of change as well, new beginnings. Why not let this be a time of spiritual change in your life?
I remember as a kid watching those adventure shows about voyages on the sea in olden days. They would lose their way and be lost at sea and soon it would come to a point where someone would inform the captain that they were almost out of water. Almost out of water? Why couldn’t they just take it from the sea? As a kid, I didn’t know you couldn’t drink seawater because of the high salt content. When you drink it, it actually causes you to become dehydrated and more thirsty than you were before!
Friends, let me tell you that looking for satisfaction in the things of this world is like drinking seawater. The more you indulge the more you want. What to do then? Well the Bible has the answer. Psalm 16:11 (NKJV) says that “…in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Yes that’s it! Only Jesus can truly satisfy us because of how we were created. We were created to be in fellowship with Him for all of our needs. What an awesome God! But wait, not only does He provide for all our needs, He fills our hearts with fullness of joy. Spending time in prayer and spending time in His Word is spending time in his presence. This is the only way we can be filled with joy and be truly satisfied, truly changed. Laurelville can provide the perfect setting for that change to take place.
Psalm 37:4 (NKJV) says, “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” Praise God! Why not call on Jesus today?
