Jacobs Creek

Jacobs Creek

Jacobs Creek traces the northern edge of Laurelville's campus. Visitors enjoy walking alongside the creek on either the Green or Red Trails, and a camp tradition is to walk in the water for the always memorable creek hike.

The creek originates several miles away in Acme, making a rather rapid decent through Laurelville and beyond toward Mt. Pleasant and Scottdale.

Its level rises and falls according to rainfall in the region; when the water level is low, you will be amazed by the tremendous amount of rocks that line its basin.

The most popular spot on the creek is at the falls, located just behind the main office at Laurelville. Campers enjoy jumping from a ledge at the base of the falls and swimming in the pool beneath it.

Note: Rapidly running water and rocks can make for a dangerous combination, so please exercise caution when visiting.
Due to safety concerns, please do not jump from the top of the falls.

Fishing is allowed with valid PA license (walk-ins only, please), but we ask that you show respect to our guests who wish to use the creek for other recreational purposes. Alcohol is not permitted on Laurelville's grounds.
