Downtown Gazebo

The downtown gazebo in Mt. Pleasant is a nice place for a picnic or lazy afternoon. A variety of entertainment events take place at the gazebo throughout the year, including the famed Sparkle Spectacular which happens each September during the Mt. Pleasant Glass & Ethnic Festival. The gazebo is part of Veteran's Park, which also features a fountain and a wall honoring local military veterans.
Directions from Laurelville: (10 minutes driving time) Left at entrance, left onto Rt. 982, right onto Rt. 31, go to Doughboy statue, turn left. Gazebo will be on your left; public parking is availble across the street to your right.

Directions from Laurelville: (Approx. 10 minutes) Left at entrance, left onto Rt. 982, right onto Rt. 31. At the Doughboy Statue in Mt Pleasant, turn left onto Diamond St, and left at the next stoplight onto Rt. 819. After 1/2 mile, turn right onto Bessemer Rd. Go another 1/2 mile.
Mammoth Park “Giant Slide”

The unique 96 foot slide is nestled in a hillside of this nearby park.

Directions from Laurelville: Left at entrance, right onto Rt. 982 (go 3 miles). Turn left at stop sign, then an immediate right onto Rt. 982. Follow signs carefully to stay on Rt. 982. Turn left onto Welty Road and enter park.

A restoration of the cottage, mill and main house of the Abraham Overholt estate. Henry Clay Frick was born in the stone cottage. A broadly diversified museum has been established in the "mill" building.
