Featured Artists
Juanita Yoder Kauffman: Fiber-reactive dyes on silk, Drawing, Watercolor, Wearable art.
Juanita Yoder Kauffman creates paintings on silk for liturgical, public and private collections, and for wearable art. She notes: “Creating artwork is my way of listening and responding to the forces of life, experiencing and expressing transformation, and receiving and offering nourishment. My works explore abstracted natural, celestial and human forms, and draw on my experiences, dreams and spiritual heritage.” ( www.JYKart.com)
Howard Zehr: photography
Howard Zehr, featured artist for the program and Professor of Restorative Justice since 1996 at the Center for Justice & Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, divides his attention between justice and photography—and is happiest when the two interests converge.
He has worked professionally as a photographer and photojournalist, both in the North America and internationally. His current involvements are primarily in documentary, portrait and landscape photography. Howard, author of The Little Book of Contemplative Photography, teaches a graduate course entitled “Contemplative Photography,” and he occasionally leads seminars on photography. (www.howardzehr.com)
