Mary Etta King

Mary Etta King grew up in rural southeastern PA with her parents and three brothers. She graduated from Lancaster Mennonite High School, Messiah College and Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary (M.A.in Christian Formation). The Practicum in Spiritual Direction Training was done at Chestnut Hill College. She has a sense of God's call on her life, a call to prayer that came at a young age. At times she tests this call, but God's love and mercy always bring her home.

She is a spiritual director and serves as executive director at Kairos: School of Spiritual Formation. She enjoys being with her family, watching birds, gardening, walking and reading.

Cheryl Lehman

Cheryl lives in Mount Joy with her husband, Nelson. She is a member at Community Mennonite Church of Lancaster. They have one daughter, Krista, who lives in Tucson, AZ.

Cheryl is on the staff of Kairos School of Spiritual Formation, a retreat program of contemplative prayer and formative spirituality. Cheryl is a spiritual director and teaches in the Spiritual Direction Training Program of the Kairos School. She leads retreats and values living a contemplative life—one marked by “kairos time”—time for noticing beauty and living in the moment, time for prayerful reflection, time to BE, time for relationships, time for being with God around all that life brings.

Biblical studies and theology are a passion for Cheryl. She loves to read and values stimulating conversation. She enjoys long distance biking and hiking, bird watching, and travel.

Richard Weaver

Richard received his MD from Temple University in 1964 and completed an internship and residency in surgery. He served as a missionary in Tanzania for about 7 years. Student at Kairos: School of Spiritual Formation 1992-95. He retired from surgery 1997 and completed MDiv. at Lancaster Theological Seminary. He began his spiritual formation training with a course at Eastern Baptist Seminary (now Palmer).

After graduation from seminary he served for five years in ministry at New Holland Mennonite Church serving on the pastoral team for three years. He completed two-year program in Spiritual Direction ministry with Oasis Ministries. Since 2000 Richard has been doing individual and group direction. Richard joined the Kairos faculty in August 2008 and attends Akron Mennonite Church.

Peg Cromer Greiner

Peg’s passion to grow in wisdom began as a young girl, overlooking the farm fields from her back yard and asking questions too big to language. Peg is now an RN with a Masters Degree in Nursing Science, University of Arkansas; Masters Degree in Holistic Spirituality/Spiritual Direction, Chestnut Hill College; a Certificate in Supervision, Chestnut Hill College; and has practiced as a spiritual director and retreat leader for over 15 years. She has been on faculty of Kairos: School of Spiritual Formation, Lancaster, for over 10 years (nonconsecutive) where she teaches Year 2: Prayer and the Contemplative Life.

Retired from nursing administration in 2007, she now teaches as adjunct nursing faculty for Eastern Mennonite University and Immaculata University in the areas of Holistic Health and Leadership. She attends Lititz Moravian Congregation and is a member of the Eastern District Executive Board and the Moravian Candidacy Review Committee. Widowed after 25 years of marriage, Peg is now remarried to a wonderful man as of October 2010. She has two grown daughters (adopted from South Korea) and lives in Lititz, PA. And she is still praying the questions…
